This has long troubled me. Why the heck do Android devices and their batteries die horribly?

Why does the blackberry torch/ curve last LONGER when you have the Wi-Fi on?

I noticed that the android powered Asus Transformer lasts a LOT longer when you
turn it into airplane mode when not using wireless. By ‘alot’ i mean days instead of 8 hours max

The end result for me is that I can read my PDF’s alot longer between recharges!

The blackberries i’m puzzled on still. My assumption is that when on Wi-Fi it uses
the wifi instead of using the 3G. This leads me to assume that wifi uses
less power than 3G.

I know it’s just a dream but I’d love to see android devices etc with batteries that lasted as long as a kindle.
